International Military Psychology Conference 2025

The International Military Testing Association (IMTA) is thrilled to announce that the very first International Military Psychology Conference (IMPC) will be held in the beautiful city of Antwerp, Belgium, in 2025. This year's conference marks an exciting new chapter, as the International Military Testing Association broadens its interest to the whole realm of military psychology.

Since its inception in 1959, the International Military Testing Association has witnessed a significant evolution in military psychology. Its focus has broadened from testing and selection to include new scientific areas covering topics such as leadership and resilience, policy, health and safety, human factors and ergonomics, job satisfaction and reintegration, or more recently NextGen technologies, Artificial Intelligence, experimental psychology or neuroscience. Renaming the conference to International Military Psychology Conference (IMPC) reflects this diversification, driven by unprecedented technological, political, economic and societal advances that impact, directly or indirectly, the nature of the Defense sector and industry.

Recent events in contemporary world politics and the spectrum of new challenges to world peace have further increased the need for faster-paced progress in all these domains, which in turn is expected to intensify research efforts, projects, collaborations and exchanges in the coming years. A crucial aspect of these events is that civilians have become as much concerned with military preparedness as the Armed Forces themselves, making it more likely than ever that scientists outside the military sector will play an active role in research in the field of contemporary military psychology.
